Science + Nature = Adventure. Our team has been using this formula for decades. In the process, we’ve introduced nearly 2 million school students to the wonders and importance of our natural world here in Florida and beyond through our live-narrated film series based in Miami-Dade County. This is an extraordinary planet, and if you love nature like we do, Florida is brimming with wildlife and adventure.
If you’re interested in learning more about manatees, alligators, orchids, coral reefs or the Everglades, you’ve come to the right place.
Odyssey Earth is an exciting educational website specializing in Florida-based environmental science, biology, and natural history topics.
More
The Odyssey Earth team, two generations of wildlife filmmakers, has been creating documentary films for more than 5 decades. While our film projects have taken us to exotic locations such as Africa, Indonesia, Central and South America, we’ve focused most of our efforts on exploring and understanding the biodiversity of our backyard here in Florida. Everglades National Park, the first National Park established to protect an ecosystem, is minutes away from our home base. Biscayne National Park, with its coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove forests, is practically in our neighborhood. Florida has amazing springs, rivers, wetlands and countless other critical habitats for a host of wildlife. We also have lots and lots of people. Environmental literacy can help us all be smarter humans, and better stewards of our incredible and increasingly imperiled wild places. Odyssey Earth’s educational video adventures and teaching resources are a great place to start. Check out our expansive, free archives of educational video content and teaching resources.
